Saturday’s Save-a-Life event honoring Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was a huge success!! Thank you to everyone who came out to participate.
In an emergency, being prepared and knowing how to respond is very important. We witnessed this during the tragedy in Tucson. Several bystanders that knew basic first aid and CPR where able to save the lives of several victims, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
Now, thanks to this free class sponsored by Safeway and Walgreen, more than 11,000 people across United States were trained this past Saturday in these lifesaving skills. The Cincinnati Region was one of more than 100 American Red Cross Chapters that participated in this event and we had an outstanding turnout.
It is encouraging to know that our community is better prepared because of this event. Even if you missed out, you can go to our website and register you and a loved one for CPR/AED training or you can take a hands-only CPR course. You’re only a class away from knowing how to react during an emergency.
