Follow the Leadership Road

For the past 27 years the Cincinnati Region of the American Red Cross has offered Leadership Development Center (LDC) for teens in the Tri-State region entering 8th-12th grades.  This opportunity allows youth to come together and learn from one another leadership skills, the importance of diversity and of different volunteer opportunities in our community.

More than 100 teens come together for a four-day, three-night stay for this conference.  It’s an introduction into the “real world” that gives the skills needed to become a leader in today’s society.  Youth will also learn about the American Red Cross and increase self-awareness through leadership classes taught to them by other experienced youth.
LDC is a safe environment for youth to express themselves, talk about issues that they may encounter and learn the best ways to handle situations and know that they can rise above and be great!
This year’s Leadership Develepment Center will be held at Thomas More College in Crestview Hills Kentucky, July 14th-17th.  The cost is $180 which covers lodging, meals and training financial assistance is available on a limited basis.  The deadline for all applications to be in is Friday, May 27, 2011.
