Sara Benjamin

Help Can't Wait Award

Although you get trained in first aid, CPR/AED you hope that you never have to use your training. When you do, you hope that all the training comes back to you and you are able to successfully help save a life.

While working at the Cincinnati Zoo, Sara Benjamin, a Red Cross AP instructor responded to a zoo patron that appeared to be going into cardiac arrest. Sara immediately performed CPR on this person and because of her quick thinking, he survived.

The Cincinnati Region of the American Red Cross along with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens recognized Sara on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 by presenting her with the Help Can’t Wait Award which recognizes individuals who because of their training and quick thinking, help save a life.

The Cincinnati Region of the American Red Cross trained more than 47,000 individuals in first aid CPR/AED courses last year.
